What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Reduce Picture Size website and web app, and to the iOS and Android apps if and when they are published, referred to together as "Reduce Picture Size" or "the app."

Photos and files you process

Every tool — compression, resizing, cropping, rotating, watermarking, redaction, GIF export, and the passport/visa photo fitter — runs locally using your browser's or device's own image-processing capabilities. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server we operate. We have no ability to see the images you process because they never reach us.

What we store locally

The app saves a small number of preferences — such as your chosen color theme — in your browser's or device's local storage. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is only used to remember your settings between visits.

Accounts

Reduce Picture Size does not require or offer account creation. There is no sign-up, no password, and no user database. Because no account exists, there is no personal profile data to request deletion of.

Advertising and analytics

If this site runs advertising campaigns (for example, through Google Ads) or uses analytics tools, those providers may set cookies or use device identifiers in your browser to measure how you arrived at the site and whether an ad led to a visit. This is separate from, and unrelated to, how your photos are processed — advertising and analytics providers never receive your photos. Where Google services are involved, you can review how Google uses this data and manage your own ad settings at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and myadcenter.google.com.

The site also shows a running total of photos compressed and bytes saved across everyone who has used the tool. To keep that number accurate, your browser sends two numbers to our server after you process a photo — a count and a byte total — and nothing else. Your photos, filenames, and IP-linked identity are not part of that data. This total is stored on our server only as an aggregate figure with no way to attribute any part of it back to a specific visit.

Children's privacy

Reduce Picture Size is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, because we add server-side features, accounts, or new analytics — we'll update the date above and describe the change here before it takes effect.
