Compress Image to 200KB

The tool below is already set to Max file size: 195 KB, so every photo you add comes out under 200KB — the size most often asked for by NEET and other exam uploads with a 200KB cap, marketplace listings, and blog images. Add one photo or a batch, tap Process all, and download.

It finds the highest quality that still fits under the limit, and only reduces the pixel dimensions if quality alone can't get there. At 200KB most photos keep full HD (1920 px) dimensions with good quality as JPEG or WebP. Everything runs in your browser; your photos are never uploaded.

Nothing here yet — add photos above to get started.

Only helps if your background is already one plain color (e.g. a wall) — this is color-distance math, not real subject cutout, so it won't do anything useful against busy or textured backgrounds.

How to compress an image to 200KB

  1. Tap the box above (or drag and drop) to add a photo — JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP all work.
  2. Leave Max file size at 195 KB, and JPEG as the output format, which gives the smallest files for photos.
  3. If the form also gives exact pixel dimensions, set them under Resize → Exact.
  4. Tap Process all and download — the size shown under each photo is the final file size, under 200KB.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce a photo to exactly 200KB?

Add it above and tap Process all — the target is preset to 195 KB. The tool lands as close under the limit as it can at the best possible quality; hitting an exact byte count isn't needed, since upload forms only check the maximum.

Why is the target 195 KB and not 200 KB?

Some sites count 1KB as 1,000 bytes and others as 1,024. 195 KB (199,680 bytes) passes under either reading of 200KB. You can change the number in the settings panel if you know exactly how your site counts.

My photo still won't go under 200KB — what can I do?

Make sure the output format is JPEG or WebP: PNG is lossless and often can't reach small targets. For very small targets, also reduce the pixel dimensions under Resize. The tool already shrinks dimensions automatically as a last resort.

Will compressing to 200KB make my photo blurry?

Usually not at normal viewing sizes — the tool picks the highest quality that fits, and most photos look close to the original at this size.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Compression runs entirely in your browser — your photos never leave your device. See the Privacy Policy.
